Valley Harvest
Pen & Ink, Acrylic Ink on Watercolour Paper, 16×20“
CAD $2,500.00
Valley Harvest is a pen and ink depiction of apples hanging from a tree, captured in a moment of quiet abundance. The fruit, nestled among leaves and branches, reflects the natural rhythm of growth and the approach of harvest.
While the piece is primarily rendered in black ink, touches of red and green are introduced at the base of the drawing. These subtle colours ground the composition and echo the life within the scene—the red suggesting ripeness and vitality, and the green representing growth and renewal. Together, they add a quiet contrast to the monochrome line work, drawing attention to the cycle of maturation.
Through detailed line work, I emphasize texture and form, allowing each apple and leaf to emerge with clarity and depth. The use of pen and ink highlights structure and permanence, while the addition of colour brings a sense of life and warmth.
Valley Harvest is a reflection on patience, nourishment, and the quiet beauty found in nature’s cycles—where growth, change, and harvest exist together in balance.
